Roba Metals 85-jarig Jubileum
You've earned a Pluim!
Roba was founded on July 23, 1937. Or rather “Roba Metallurgical Handelmaatschappij”. Almost exactly 85 years ago. My two grandfathers Willy Cohn and Robert Baruch had to flee Germany from the Nazis with their families. They knew each other from the business world and decided to make a new start together in the Netherlands. A trading company in metal scrap, based in Amsterdam. The rest is history.
Unfortunately, there will be no anniversary party this year. Due to Covid it was impossible to prepare such a big event. But we still want to reflect on our 85th anniversary. That is why we offer every current employee and everyone who has left Roba to go in direct retirement a gift in the form of “a Pluim voucher”. You can find all the information on this site.

Deze Pluim heb je dik verdiend!
Op 23 juli 1937 werd Roba opgericht. Of beter gezegd “Roba Metallurgische Handelmaatschappij”. Dus binnenkort precies 85 jaar geleden. Mijn twee grootvaders Willy Cohn en Robert Baruch moesten met hun beider gezinnen uit Duitsland vluchten voor de Nazi’s. Ze kenden elkaar uit de zakenwereld en besloten gezamenlijk in Nederland een nieuwe start te maken. Een handelsbedrijf in metaalafvallen, gevestigd in Amsterdam. De rest is geschiedenis.
Helaas is er dit jaar geen jubileumfeest. Vanwege Covid was het onmogelijk om een zo groot evenement voor te bereiden. Maar toch willen we even stil staan bij ons 85 jarig bestaan. Daarom bieden we elke huidige medewerker en iedereen die bij Roba haar of zijn pensioen gehaald heeft een cadeau aan in de vorm van “een Pluim” . Op deze site kunnen jullie alle informatie vinden.
